What to expect . . . .
MacTuff New Year is a mental and physically challenging obstacle course event suitable for adults of all ages and most abilities. Howver don’t underestimate it – this is definitely not a walk in the park. It is hilly, very muddy and very wet and very very cold. Each distance is a single loop, be it 8k, 15k or 21k.

The Venue
Knockhill Racing Circuit, Saline, Nr Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. KY12 9TG. Simply known by most of Scotland as ‘Knockhill’.

The nearest public transport access will be to Dunfermline, or a sporadic bus service to one of the local villages that are at least 2 miles away from the venue. You will require private transport or a taxi to get to the venue, unless you are ‘really adventurous’.

Dogs & Animals
There are no dogs or other animals allowed on site at Knockhill. Knockhill is a live motor circuit and racing will be going on during the event.

Still Open for Entries
At present we still have a number of entries available. If you still have family or friends that wish to enter, please let them know. Link to entries at the top of the page.

final attempt, waiting in turn behind any other competitive participants already at or waiting at the obstacle. A second failure will mean you will only place in qualifications on the same number of bands as others (ie below all those that completed a higher number of bands). So bands can

be more important than time.

Clothing
DON’T WEAR COTTON. DON’T WEAR HEAVY CLOTHES. DON’T WEAR CLOTHES THAT SUCK IN AND ABSORB WATER. DON’T WEAR NEW TRAINERS.

Wear light, performance fabrics next to your skin that will typically allow your body to breathe and release moisture. In layers if you feel the need to wear multiple layers, but skin alone will dry quicker than your clothes. Wear old, but comfortable trainers. Do your shoe laces up real tight. Some people like to wear gloves that will give them grip on obstacles. Have your after event clothing set out as much as possible before you race, allowing you to quickly clean, change, and get warm. Remember bottles of water and old towels to get the mud off you, a change of footwear and clothing, and plastic bags for your wet & dirty clothing and towels.
